Special Thanks to:  Venue:  FORTY TWO TEN, Florist:  MARIGOLD FLOWER CO., Photographer:  LUCYNA ALEKSANDRA PORTRAITS

I'll never forget the first time I stumbled upon Oh Hello Events!  I was a newbie photographer at the time.  I was stalking my site traffic when I saw her website pop up.  I clicked on the link, and in that moment I knew I wanted to be apart of the magic she creates!  Through her site I found Catherine Ann Photography  who later went on to mentor me as a photographer.  It was in those moments everything changed for me.  A domino effect of people were brought into my life that lead me to this moment as Ever After Vintage Weddings.  Jennifer was one of the first people to encourage me and say  "Have you considered maybe being a wedding designer?".  At the time, the idea scared me when I thought of all the things involved with a change in direction, but here I am, and I could not be happier!  A large part of that is thanks to her.

Today I am happy to announce that Jennifer and I will be joining forces!  Ever After Vintage Weddings will now be offering EA + OH Day of Coordination services to our Design + Styling clients!  This means you can have one amazing team for both your design and planning needs!  Our special EA + OH package gives the best of both worlds Oh Hello Events and Ever After Vintage Weddings, and mixes them together so well!  I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer and seeing her in action over the years.  Unlike me she is soft spoken, but one of the most amazing "in charge" planners I have ever seen.  She has this way about her that when she's near, you feel confident that everything will work out just fine. This is one of the many reasons why she makes such an amazing wedding planner!  We are so excited to have the opportunity to work along side of her, and her team.  We know our clients are in good hands!   In spirit of the occasion, it only seems fitting to share an interview with our readers!  Check out below to see my interview with Jennifer.   Also, we all dressed up and shared some donuts while we took a few inspiring photos to share, and we updated the site with a list of our SERVICES.  You can also now find a page where you can now MEET THE TEAM.   Enjoy.

ME:  What is your favorite color palette?

JENNIFER:  Any that incorporate pink in pretty ways, all the way from blush to magenta. I thought I would eventually grow out of that preference, but I haven't!

ME:  What sort of things inspire you the most?

JENNIFER:   I find other people's energy contagious, so if I have a couple who is particularly excited about one idea or moment, I find it easy to be inspired to make that piece of the wedding amazing.

ME:  What do you love most about being a wedding planner?

JENNIFER:  I love seeing all of the cohesive elements we've worked so hard on come together to create something beautiful. Working with other kind and smart vendors to make a couple happy makes me happy.

ME:  Name one thing you think couples often forget during the wedding planning process.

JENNIFER:  When creating a couple's timeline and finalizing details with their vendors as a part of day-of coordination, I often catch small logistical concerns that couples just aren't aware of. It's easy for me to intervene with those and it makes me happy to know they avoid small issues on the day-of by having us on their team. An example would be booking their photographer for 6 hours, but hoping to capture getting ready photos as well as their sparkler send-off. Not typically possible, I'm afraid. I also have a checklist to confirm they have all the usual keepsake items they may need - a cake knife, pens for the guest book or guest book alternative, etc.

ME:  What's your most favorite place in the world?

JENNIFER:  Los Angeles, California with my husband and a long list of places to explore. I also love going to Long Island, New York to see my family.

ME:  Name one vintage candy that you love.

JENNIFER:  Hmm... Dots that come on the paper. Sure, I end up eating 80% paper and 20% dots, but I still enjoy those.

ME:  Describe yourself in 5 words.

JENNIFER:  Laid-back, creative, feminist, enthusiast, empath

ME:  Name one food you can not live without.

JENNIFER:  A whole group of 'em, unfortunately: carbs.

ME:  Beach or Mountains?

JENNIFER:  Mountains!

ME:  If you were to plan your dream wedding, what would it look like?

JENNIFER:  Oh man... it would be in California, and it would be a multi-day celebration. All of our family and close friends would stay in one place. We would have an outdoor ceremony on a bluff and I would wear a long-sleeved gown and carry a gigantic bouquet - the biggest anyone has ever seen. We would have Mexican food, really amazing wine, and we would dance until the early hours of the morning to a combination of live music from our favorite band, The Wallflowers, and a DJ'd playlist by my husband, John.

ME:  If you could have lunch with one creative, who would it be & what would you order?

JENNIFER:   She's not in the wedding industry, but I admire her as a producer, writer, and amazing performer, Amy Poehler. We would go for french fries and we would talk about everything - collaboration, motherhood, friendship, getting older, learning from other's, and what's next.

ME:  Your business' theme song?

JENNIFER:

Rock & Roll by the Velvet Underground

 - it's the perfect first song to play when hitting the road on a wedding day.

ME:  Favorite part of a wedding?

JENNIFER:  I love seeing a couple taking a moment away from the crowd to talk to each other. I sometimes overhear and it's usually not dramatic or romantic stuff. Just little things like, "can you believe the wedding is finally here?" and "you look beautiful", or "did you see where they put my jacket?" They don't know yet how compelling it will be to look back at this day for years to come.

ME:  Name one odd tool you keep in your wedding bag of tricks.

JENNIFER:  Pliers! Road fairs! Haven't had to use them yet, but you never know.

Boho Birthday Tea Party

Birthday Party Event planner

This past weekend I was excited to see a boho themed tea party I have been working on come together!  All of the furniture in this clients living room was totally moved out, so that we could transform the room into a sugar coated boho wonderland for their daughter's 6th birthday party!  The floor was covered with white and cream quilts and white crates were placed to form little tables for the girls.  Each table had a ruffle fabric on it to soften the look of the crates.  Every table had a pillow from our collection for each little girl to snuggle or sit on.  The tables were adored with vintage china plates, teacups, gold vintage flatware, and a teapot.  Of course no table is complete with out a sweet smelling centerpiece of fresh flowers.  Pictures on the wall were covered with coordinating wrapping paper so that everything was finished off nicely.  We made a yarn tassel garland which gave a wonderful texture that was fitting for our theme.  Each little girl also received an adorable handmade floral crown with beautiful lace ribbons.   Not only did we plan out the design, but we supplied everything you see in these photos.  It was very rewarding to see it all together, but not as rewarding as the sweet birthday girls response to everything!  From the moment I walking in she was so genuinely excited and grateful and very eager to help.  It really touched my heart!!

Macrame and Margaritas Orlando Girls Weekend Trip Gaylord Palms

  HR-10

So, a few weeks ago I was getting ready to go out, and my husband came in and says to me "Hey honey, by the way, I am going on a trip to Kentucky in a few weeks and I want to take Dylan with me."  WHAT!  Now to some, a house empty with the husband and your children away sounds blissful!  Not me!  I can't think of the last time I was alone for four days straight!  What would I do?!!  Sit around for four days?  Spring clean?  No fun!  So I asked him if he would mind if a grabbed a couple girls and stayed the night in Orlando.  Well, some how a couple girls turned in to 20!  I was excited to find a deal on one of my favorite hotels in Orlando, Gaylord Palms!  If you have never been there, you are missing out.  It's especially a treat in Florida's hot weather!  I love their huge atrium, and LOVE the restaurants there!!  I opened the invitation up to a group of awesome wedding professionals I adore.  The theme of our little getaway was Macrame and Margaritas.  It was a casual get together to chat, relax, and get a little crafty.

Our trip started out at Portobello in Disney Springs.  They were so nice to accommodate our large party, and even set our tables up early for us so that we could place little gift boxes at each spot.  The gift boxes were adorable blush gift boxes I found on Etsy.  They were the perfect shade of pink!  Inside was yummy home made coconut marshmallows from Trudy Melissa Cakes, a mix of Pineapple can openers, flamingo can openers, and pineapple wine corks from Beaucoup.  They have the most adorable favors!  Also inside was adorable lemon and lime candy fruit slice soaps from Love Lee Soaps these seriously looked so good you could eat them!  Gourmet Watermelon Peach Margarita and Whiskey Guava Lollipops from one of my favorite shops on Etsy The Groovy Baker , and adorable pineapple hair elastics from Love Mia + Co.  Which is another cute shop for favors!!  Another treat the girls got was adorable name tags my dear friend Jennifer made everyone which were so cute and embellished with a little pineapple!  I was also very happy with the food I got at the restaurant.  I ordered a raspberry Italian soda, a portobello mushroom appetizer and a mushroom pizza.  YES, I love mushrooms lol.

After lunch we all headed to the resort to check in.  After a fun time just relaxing by the pool, I taught a macrame class.  This was done pool side, which really felt relaxing and carefree.  I taught the girls three different knots, and they worked on wall hangings and plant holders.  It was lots of fun, but it went by so so quick!  Before we knew it the trip was over!  We finished off with a yummy breakfast buffet at the resort and said our goodbyes.  I LOVE that we all came together and celebrated as one.  Almost all of us where in the wedding industry, there were multiple wedding planners, multiple photographers, and 3 wedding rentals companies!  None of that mattered though.  We had a lovely time! #communityovercompetition I am so grateful so many sweet talented people decided they would share a free weekend with me in Orlando.  So fun!  Thanks so much for the pictures in this post which were taken by Jenn Carroll Photography and Tamarie Photography!
