Announcing New Day of Wedding Planning Services
I'll never forget the first time I stumbled upon Oh Hello Events! I was a newbie photographer at the time. I was stalking my site traffic when I saw her website pop up. I clicked on the link, and in that moment I knew I wanted to be apart of the magic she creates! Through her site I found Catherine Ann Photography who later went on to mentor me as a photographer. It was in those moments everything changed for me. A domino effect of people were brought into my life that lead me to this moment as Ever After Vintage Weddings. Jennifer was one of the first people to encourage me and say "Have you considered maybe being a wedding designer?". At the time, the idea scared me when I thought of all the things involved with a change in direction, but here I am, and I could not be happier! A large part of that is thanks to her.
Today I am happy to announce that Jennifer and I will be joining forces! Ever After Vintage Weddings will now be offering EA + OH Day of Coordination services to our Design + Styling clients! This means you can have one amazing team for both your design and planning needs! Our special EA + OH package gives the best of both worlds Oh Hello Events and Ever After Vintage Weddings, and mixes them together so well! I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer and seeing her in action over the years. Unlike me she is soft spoken, but one of the most amazing "in charge" planners I have ever seen. She has this way about her that when she's near, you feel confident that everything will work out just fine. This is one of the many reasons why she makes such an amazing wedding planner! We are so excited to have the opportunity to work along side of her, and her team. We know our clients are in good hands! ME: What is your favorite color palette?
JENNIFER: Any that incorporate pink in pretty ways, all the way from blush to magenta. I thought I would eventually grow out of that preference, but I haven't!
ME: What sort of things inspire you the most?
JENNIFER: I find other people's energy contagious, so if I have a couple who is particularly excited about one idea or moment, I find it easy to be inspired to make that piece of the wedding amazing.
ME: What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
JENNIFER: I love seeing all of the cohesive elements we've worked so hard on come together to create something beautiful. Working with other kind and smart vendors to make a couple happy makes me happy.
ME: Name one thing you think couples often forget during the wedding planning process.
JENNIFER: When creating a couple's timeline and finalizing details with their vendors as a part of day-of coordination, I often catch small logistical concerns that couples just aren't aware of. It's easy for me to intervene with those and it makes me happy to know they avoid small issues on the day-of by having us on their team. An example would be booking their photographer for 6 hours, but hoping to capture getting ready photos as well as their sparkler send-off. Not typically possible, I'm afraid. I also have a checklist to confirm they have all the usual keepsake items they may need - a cake knife, pens for the guest book or guest book alternative, etc.
ME: What's your most favorite place in the world?
JENNIFER: Los Angeles, California with my husband and a long list of places to explore. I also love going to Long Island, New York to see my family.
ME: Name one vintage candy that you love.
JENNIFER: Hmm... Dots that come on the paper. Sure, I end up eating 80% paper and 20% dots, but I still enjoy those.
ME: Describe yourself in 5 words.
JENNIFER: Laid-back, creative, feminist, enthusiast, empath
ME: Name one food you can not live without.
JENNIFER: A whole group of 'em, unfortunately: carbs.
ME: Beach or Mountains?
ME: If you were to plan your dream wedding, what would it look like?
JENNIFER: Oh man... it would be in California, and it would be a multi-day celebration. All of our family and close friends would stay in one place. We would have an outdoor ceremony on a bluff and I would wear a long-sleeved gown and carry a gigantic bouquet - the biggest anyone has ever seen. We would have Mexican food, really amazing wine, and we would dance until the early hours of the morning to a combination of live music from our favorite band, The Wallflowers, and a DJ'd playlist by my husband, John.
ME: If you could have lunch with one creative, who would it be & what would you order?
JENNIFER: She's not in the wedding industry, but I admire her as a producer, writer, and amazing performer, Amy Poehler. We would go for french fries and we would talk about everything - collaboration, motherhood, friendship, getting older, learning from other's, and what's next.
ME: Your business' theme song?
- it's the perfect first song to play when hitting the road on a wedding day.
ME: Favorite part of a wedding?
JENNIFER: I love seeing a couple taking a moment away from the crowd to talk to each other. I sometimes overhear and it's usually not dramatic or romantic stuff. Just little things like, "can you believe the wedding is finally here?" and "you look beautiful", or "did you see where they put my jacket?" They don't know yet how compelling it will be to look back at this day for years to come.
ME: Name one odd tool you keep in your wedding bag of tricks.
JENNIFER: Pliers! Road fairs! Haven't had to use them yet, but you never know.
